Riju is a Chrome extension that checks a clothing product page's published details against a textile watchlist bundled inside the extension. This page explains what Riju does and does not do with your data.
Riju does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, browsing history, or page content. Everything happens locally, inside your browser, only when you click "Scan this page."
Riju uses Chrome's activeTab and scripting
permissions. These only grant access to the single tab you are viewing,
and only for the moment after you click the "Scan this page" button in
the popup. Riju has no host_permissions and cannot read any
page in the background — it cannot see anything you do before you click
Scan, or on any tab other than the one you scanned.
When you click Scan, Riju reads, from that one page:
The text Riju reads is compared, entirely inside your browser, against a
textile watchlist file (watchlist.json) that ships bundled
inside the extension itself. This comparison happens in memory and
produces the result you see in the popup.
Riju makes no network requests. It does not send the page you scanned, the product data it read, or the result it produced to any server — including to the developer of Riju. Nothing you scan ever leaves your device. The only network-shaped call in the code is a local read of the bundled watchlist file that is packaged inside the extension.
Riju does not use chrome.storage, cookies, or any other
persistence mechanism. It keeps no history of pages you've scanned and
no results, on your device or anywhere else. Closing the popup discards
the scan result; scanning again re-reads the page from scratch.
Riju does not integrate with, or share data with, any third-party service, analytics provider, or advertising network.
If Riju's data handling ever changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
